Loft Insulation

Installing insulation in the rafters or joists in roofs can prevent heat escaping from the roof by trapping heat to prevent loss.

What is Loft Insulation?

Loft Insulation (LI) is installed in the rafters or joists of roofs to prevent heat escaping through the roof of the property in order to retain heat within the building.

This is typically carried out where loft spaces are uninhabited, referred to as cold loft insulation.

Insulation is typically fibreglass, mineral wool or insulated panelling.

What are the benefits of Loft Insulation?

Insulation slows down or traps escaping heat, in turn allowing living spaces within the property to be much warmer.

  • Helps to lower energy bills

  • Increases the property's energy efficiency

  • Increases the property's value

  • Is a long term energy reducing measure, which once installed lasts for many years
