Diversity Swaps Old Clothes For Cash
Diversity Energy staff used the spring season to de-clutter and raise money for a worthwhile local charity.
Raising money for Aberdeenshire based Cash For Kids, Diversity Energy staff collected up their old clothing and shoes to be collected and exchanged into cash. With £400 raised for every tonne donated, the charity was set to benefit from the staff's past season fashions.
Cash for Kids supports children and young people affected by poverty, abuse, neglect, life-limiting illness and those who have additional needs across Aberdeen city and shire.
As well as raising funds for this worthwhile local cause, the staff efforts support people across the world as the clothing is send overseas to help people in countries in need.
Their efforts also decrease the amount of old clothing going to landfill, reducing the negative impact on the environment and enhancing sustainability.
Suzie Anderson, Business Administration Manger at Diversity Energy, commented, "This charitable drive gave the Diversity staff the nudge to set about their wardrobe spring clean in the knowledge that their efforts were not only helping children in the local area, but also families living abroad in the poorest conditions. I am proud to be part of a team that recognises the contributions it can make to the world in which we live and towards improving the lives of others."
