Internal Wall Insulation

Internal wall insulation is the process of adding an insulated layer to external walls to increase the thermal resistance and prevent heat from escaping through the walls of the property.

This works especially well within older properties where external wall insulation is forbidden, or where there is not adequate space in the external walls to install insulation. It also works well for flats as it is not possible to eternally insulate just one flat. For conservation areas, this type of insulation also works well a the outside of the building is not visually altered.

Internal wall insulation involves fitting rigid insulation boards to the wall, or building a stud wall filled in with insulation material such as mineral wool fibre.

At Diversity Energy, we most commonly use the batten fix approach. This involves the fixing of battening to the wall to even out the surface, before the insulation is installed between the battens, and then plasterboard applied over the top to secure before the wall is plastered for ready for decoration.

No scaffolding is required to apply internal wall insulation, and it can also be carried out in all weather conditions.
