Underfloor Insulation
Installing insulation materials beneath the floorboards of a property or on a concrete floor can aid retention and save energy and associated costs.
What is Underfloor Insulation?
If your property has suspended floorboards, whereby the floorboards are laid over the joists, then it is ideal for underfloor insulation. It is required that the minimum space under the floor is 1 metre, to allow access.
Insulation can be solid board, or fibrous materials, that is installed and fixed to the underside of the floor between the joists, and secured to stay in place.
What are the benefits of Underfloor Insulation?
Insulation slows down or traps escaping heat, in turn allowing living spaces within the property to be much warmer.
-
Helps to lower energy bills
-
Increases the property's energy efficiency
-
Increases the property's value
-
Is a long term energy reducing measure, which once installed lasts for many years
