What is Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)?

PAT testing law requires that all landlords, employers and even self-employed individuals ensure that their portable electrical appliances are safe and are suitable for use as the purposes intends.

Appliances should always be maintained properly and remain in good working order.

Testing of the appliances makes certain that these items perform safely and as they are designed to, and identifies any damage caused which may make the appliance unsafe for use.

The guidelines are designed to make certain that this equipment is kept protected and is preserved through regular maintenance as well as inspections and periodic testing.

Damage and fault can occur with all electrical equipment use which makes it essential that these items are tested regularly for safety.

How can we help?

Our competed and registered electrician will perform the PAT test on all appliances in the property.

Appliances deemed fit and safe for continued use will display a PASS sticker, whilst any appliances which do not meet safety standards will be labelled as a FAIL.

Failed appliances will be flagged with the property landlord, as it is their responsibility to repair or replace the items to ensure the safety of their tenants.
